Private Consultation fees

Private Health Insurance

On the spot rebate is available for those patients with approved cover for any of our provided services. Sports Exercise Medicine does not qualify for private health insurance rebates.

Please note an on-the-spot rebate will require a physical or digital card at the time of appointment. If one cannot be provided the cost of the consultation is to be paid by the patient at the time of appointment and an invoice will be emailed to the patient for retrospective claiming. All required details for a claim will be provided on the invoice.

Medicare and Bulk Billing

We do accept patients with a valid Medicare Allied Health Services Care Plan - please see your GP for more details.

Please note - we are NOT a bulk billing clinic.

The cost of the consultation is to be paid by the patient at the time of the appointment. Our reception team will process an online claim on the patient’s behalf where the Medicare rebate will be directly deposited to the patients’ nominated bank account listed with Medicare.

WorkCover and TAC claims

A small gap charge for each Workcover or TAC appointment dependent on length of appointment time, please call the clinic for pricing information.

All Workcover and TAC claimants will be required to provide the following prior to their first appointment.

  • Claim number
  • Date of injury
  • Insurance company
  • Claim acceptance letter
  • Case manager if one has been allocated

If a Claim Acceptance letter cannot be provided, the cost of the consultation is to be paid by the patient at the time of appointment.

Workcover Employer Excess is a requirement set by WorkSafe where the Employer is to cover medical expenses to a certain amount. In some occasions, an Employer will agree to pay for consultation costs, however written agreement is required. Otherwise, the cost of the consultation is to be paid by the patient at the time of appointment.

For both above instances, an invoice can be provided afterwards to seek reimbursement for respective parties.

Missed Appointments

We kindly request that patients notify us of any appointment changes or cancellations at least 24 hours prior to their scheduled appointment time.

Please note - Compensable bodies such as Workcover / TAC will not cover the cost of a Late Cancellation Fee - as such this fee will be charged directly to the patient.

Late Cancellation Fee:

In the event that a patient fails to provide at least 24 hours' notice for cancellation or rescheduling, a fee of 50% of the consultation fee may be charged, under discretion of Practice Management.

Repeat Cancellations:

Patients who repeatedly cancel appointments within 24 hours of their scheduled visit will be subject to the late cancellation fee per occurrence. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and we will consider exceptions to this policy on a case-by-case basis. Please contact our clinic as soon as possible if you need to make changes to your appointment.
